Why Work With a Health Coach?

Meeting health goals can feel like an uphill battle never reaching the summit

That’s where health coaching can be key. It can help you pick your way past the obstacles celebrating each small step along the way. And whether you reach the top or not, you're further up the mountain than when you started. You’ll have the tools to continue the journey to reach your goals.

Change is not easy. And sustainable change takes time to fully develop. That’s why coaching is important. It is supportive, non-judgmental and completely tailored to you and your needs.

Everyone is different. What works for one person may not work for someone else. It’s wonderful that we all bring something different to the table of life but that also means we may each need something different. One-on-one health coaching can help you find what works for you to be happier and healthier.

How It Works

Sometimes the path in life is not clear. We know where we want to be but we just can’t see how to get there. Coaching can help sort it out so that you can go from step to step. Whether it’s weight loss, reducing stress, healthier food choices, sleep, or just feeling better and more energized, coaching can help you find ways to improve your life. Coaches don't tell you what to do. Rather they help you come up with practices that work best for you and your life. That also means helping you see a clear vision of why health is important for you specifically.  What do you value in life? How will life be better when you're healthier? How can you get there?

There are no quick fixes. Change is not easy. Nothing worthwhile is easy. However, with coaching you will not only learn healthy lifestyle changes but also about yourself. Believe it not, you will come up with many of the answers you’ve been looking for. Sometimes what we need has been there all along, right in front of us, we just need help uncovering it.

About Me

Centered.jpg

I'm Shannon, and although I love travel and a good hike, I'm essentially a homebody. Most days you'll find me in the yard either planting flowers or growing and harvesting vegetables. Digging in the ground and pulling weeds is a big part of staying active and mentally grounded for me. Plus, I love it, so it's a win-win.

I decided to become a Functional Medicine Health Coach after many years of being a nurse and watching so many patients struggle with their health. My heart went out to them. It’s hard to care for patients’ physical well-being without being emotionally affected yourself. I loved being a nurse. I got more than I ever gave by being in the lives of those I cared for. I learned so much about life and people. But something was still missing.

I had been educating for years on the importance of healthy lifestyle and caring for yourself. Then I had my own health issues. I knew what I needed to do. The problem was doing it consistently. I decided to get a health coach of my own and gradually began to learn how to put the knowledge I already had into a plan for myself. I am now healthier than ever.

I want to help others do the same. To help them get on a path that leads them to the life they have always wanted. One that allows them to live life to their fullest.
